Nuclear Medicine Specialist Credentialling Program
Since 2000, there has been a Nuclear Medicine Specialist Credentialling Program in Australia. In order for patients to be eligible for Medicare benefits for a nuclear medicine service, the nuclear medicine specialist providing the service must be credentialled under the program. Applicants for credentialing or re-credentialling under the program submit an application form, copies of the required certification and the requisite application fee to the Joint Nuclear Medicine Credentialling and Accreditation Committee (JNMCAC) of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians and the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists. The JNMCAC reviews the application and documentation.advises applicants whether their documentation complies with the current requirements.
